An interior design project for a young couple, developed to expand the spaces dedicated to socializing and to create a separation between the living area and the sleeping area.

The internal layout of the apartment was enhanced by the creation of custom-made wooden carpentry modules, highlighting the welcoming spaces and screening the service areas.

The aim of the project was to expand the living area and separate it from the sleeping quarters, while optimizing the service spaces.

A single large space was created to include the living room, kitchen, and dining area. The kitchen was positioned away from the entrance area, in a more private space.

The large living room wall was customized with the creation of a bespoke carpentry unit, specifically designed for the newly created space.

The presence of a pre-existing storage room, which would have been too visible from the living room in the new layout, led to the decision to incorporate its access door into the wall unit, disguising it among the other cabinet doors.

The custom-made door completely hides the service room, preserving the elegance of the living area.

The dining area was placed in direct connection with the kitchen, also positioned away from direct view from the apartment entrance.

The kitchen opens onto the dining area. Both walls were used to maximize the presence of cabinetry and appliances, while a snack counter was added, also serving as an additional work surface.

The kitchen, thus composed, makes it possible to serve not only convivial dinners, but also daily tasks that only require a countertop.

The division between the living and sleeping areas was marked by a full-height dividing door, covered in wooden panelling. The special feature of the door makes it distinguishable from the other doors in the common rooms, clearly marking the transition from one room to another in the house.

The bathrooms are distinguished by different colours. The smaller bathroom is characterised by shades of green, which creates a full-height band behind the washbasin area.

The choice was made to lay the cladding modules in a plug, so as to create a decorative pattern similar to a weave.

In contrast, the master bathroom is characterised by neutral tones, broken up by the introduction of red on the back wall and on the doors of the vanity unit.

The neutral wall covering has been enlivened by a geometric relief band, which runs along the entire wall and covers the area behind the bathtub.
